The cycling lessons take place at the nearby Velodrome, led by experienced cycling instructors. Children are encouraged to progress from a balance bike to a pedal bike in the brilliantly equipped velodrome.
Music lessons
There will be a weekly music lesson for children at School Outdoors led by a music teacher. Children will sing songs and experiment with a variety of instruments during these lessons.
Cooking lessons
We regularly involve children with cooking at School Outdoors Dulwich. Children will help to prepare their breakfast of porridge in the morning. When we do make a fire, we do try to cook food such as bread or roast marshmallows over the fire so children can be part of all the stages of the cooking process.
School Trips
Every so often we will take the children on a trip outside the forest. This will include outings such as trips to museums, libraries, farms, or fire stations. We believe that such trips can enrich children’s learning and interests as well as their learning about different occupations, ways, and life and about their local area. Outings also help prepare children adapt to new and unfamiliar environments and changes in routine, which is essential to prepare children for their move to big school. We always complete a risk assessment before taking children on any trips and will seek written permission from parents in advance.
