PARENT PARTNERSHIP

PARENT PARTNERSHIP

At School Outdoors Dulwich we believe that parents and staff need to work together in a close partnership in order for children to receive the quality of care and early learning to meet their individual needs. We welcome parents as partners and support a two-way sharing of information that helps establish trust and understanding. We are committed to supporting parents in an open and sensitive manner to include them as an integral part of the care and early learning team within the nursery.

Your child’s key person will keep you updated on your child’s progress throughout the day, whether it be verbally at the end of the day or through our regular observations.

Staff at School Outdoors are available to contact via email and by phone throughout the nursery day. Every day we send a picture of your child home through the secure Famly app as well as writing observations of your child to update you on their development.

The Famly App
We use Famly, an all in one early childhood platform, that gives you real-time updates on your child's day straight to an app on your phone. With Famly, you’ll be able to access pictures, videos, and announcements via the newsfeed, or your child’s profile. At the click of a button, you can update permissions, report sickness and holidays, pay your bill, and send direct messages to us whenever you need. At the same time, there’s a bunch of admin tools and support, that will give our staff even more time to spend with your children

Parents’ evenings will be held at least twice a year. Parents are welcome at any time to pop in to the nursery site, observe their child’s learning and chat to staff. We also hold special events where we invite parents on to the site, such as for Mother’s Day.

We actively encourage parents to contribute to children’s learning through sharing observations, interests, and experiences from home. This may be verbally, sharing photographs or in written form

We understand that children will bring difference experiences and backgrounds to the nursery and we respect the family’s religious and cultural backgrounds and beliefs and accommodate any special requirements wherever possible and practical to do so.
